Committee Mission / Purpose:
"To Care for each other in a sincere, empathetic,
loving and
confidential manner."
The Care Committee extends the Caring that is
always present within the congregation. Volunteers extend this
“Caring” to UUCY members and friends by providing: cheer
calls, a casserole, a caring note and a visit or a ride.

Pastoral Care
Answering Machine
717-846-7525
Starting in September 2007, during Rev. Bob Renjilian's Sabbatical, the
Care Committee will be using this answering machine to handle the types
of "care" calls which might normally have come to him. This
machine is available to leave messages at any time of day or night and
is checked daily. A Care Committee volunteer will return your
call. Let us know if you are going into the hospital, need to
talk with someone, would like a Candle of Joy or Sorrow lit, need a
memorial service arranged, or if you know of someone in our
congregation who needs care.
UUCY Care Committee consists of:
• Volunteer Steering Committee
• Volunteer Core
Steering Committee:

Volunteer Core:
Members and Friends of UUCY make up the Volunteer
Core, caring for other members and friends. The Care Committee
learns of the needs of members/friends in different ways. Please
call a Steering Committee member if you know of a need, including you
and family. The Care Committee does not always know who needs our
care, if you don’t tell us!

“The
Religious Community
is
essential, for alone,
our
vision is too narrow to
see all that must
be
done. Together, our vision
widens and our
strength
is renewed.”
