Book Club
Contact: [email protected] The purpose of the group is to provide a regular forum for fellowship through review and discussion of literature of quality. Though our book choices are not often dealing with spiritual matters, our discussions do often include sharing of important elements of the human condition. The book selections vary; however the focus is generally to read literary fiction that has received critical acclaim and/or is a classic. It’s a mixed gender group, encouraging group members to suggest books that have been in publication for at least 6-9 months allowing for borrowing from the library or access from on-line or audio book providers. We also stay with books under 400 pages in length to facilitate members being able to complete the book, though that is not required to participate. Recent books read are: FLEE NORTH - Scott Shane THE WATERDANCER - Ta-Nehisi Coates IN THE HEART OF THE SEA - Nathaniel Philbrick THE AIR YOU BREATHE - Frances de Pontes Peebles This group is open for participation from congregants as well as folks from the community at large who enjoy reading and discussing books.
