Annual Spring Cleanup
The annual spring cleanup to get our buildings and grounds in shape for spring is scheduled for Saturday, April 2 from 8:30 – 12:00. Your help is needed for any of that time. For planning purposes, please let Deb Lord know if you can attend. Just showing up is also fine. The rain date is April 9.
Deb is also looking for volunteers to help mow this summer. It would just be a few hours a month to ride or push mow or to trim. To volunteer or for more information, please contact her.

Speaker Series on Climate Justice
The Green Action Team is hosting a series of presentations to understand why and how we can make important changes as individuals and groups in how we interact with nature and live to sustain all of life. Through verse and examples of the variety of the world around us, we will be inspired to learn more and work towards environmental justice and equity.
April 7 at 7:00: CLIMATE CHANGE: A Global Journey
This presentation takes us on a global journey to contextualize the real-world impacts of climate disruption. Our journey begins in the cloud forests of Costa Rica and ends in the hallways of the 2021 UN climate negotiations at COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland. Keith Peterman is a Professor Emeritus in the Chemistry Department at York College of Pennsylvania. He has served as a Fulbright Scholar in Germany and in Russia, a National Academy of Sciences Research Scholar in Poland, a Research Fellow at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC, and as a visiting professor in China and New Zealand.
April 14 at 7:00: INSPIRATION AND ACTION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECOLOGICAL JUSTICE: Awakening Ourselves
Through an introduction to the four “E’s” and “The Way Forward”, Rev. Leonisa Ardizzone will, with her energy and insight, offer important information and guidance as to how we as individuals and in our groups (including our families) take steps forward. Rev. Ardizzone is a UU minister with a Master's in Divinity from the Union Theological Seminary. With a background as a school-based science teacher, she has a Master's in Science Education and a doctorate in Peace Studies from Columbia University and is on the faculty of Vassar College in New York State.
April 21 at 7:00: HOW IS YOUR DRIVING AFFECTING CLIMATE CHANGE: Your Overall Health and The Current Debate Over Emission Levels
Our grandchildren should have the chance to grow up in a safe climate, as we have. For over 8 years Dr. Peterson has given conferences to many groups on Climate and Health. His talks are educational about changes ongoing now and what the future will be if we don't make changes. For this reason, he feels that this is the most important thing he can for with the rest of his life. Alan Peterson, MD is the Emeritus Director of Environmental and Community Medicine for over 40 years at Lancaster General Health. He is a family physician and has taught family medicine residents.
These presentations will be offered online ONLY; on the night of the event click here to join these presentations.

We Are All Earth: An Earth Day Celebration
The first Earth Day was celebrated on April 20, 1970. Fifty-two years later, what might the world look like today if the message of responsible Earth stewardship had been truly heard and followed back then? The more we learn about how very interconnected we are, what can our 7th Principle teach us about how to bring the truth of Earth Day into our world every day? Join us for worship and reflection on April 24, 2022 for our Sunday Morning Service at 10:00 AM, and stay for special Earth Day activities after!
Green Action Team Project Planning Meeting
The Green Action Team has evolved out of recognition by the board of the need to pursue green action activism within UUCYork and the greater York community. We are networking with other UUA entities to develop actions steps for UUCYork and all interested parties to make a difference regarding climate change. Please join us as we decide what these steps need to be and be a part of executing them for a sustainable future on planet Earth. As they say, "There is no planet B."
