December in RE: Choosing Hope | Religious Education

As winter approaches, days grow shorter, and the world around us seems to change. This month is a wonderful time to notice the light that shines in ourselves and others. In Unitarian Universalism, we believe that hope is a choice we can make, a choice that helps us act with  courage, kindness, and curiosity, which helps us stay connected to each other and the world  around us.

In our PreK-3 classes, our first lesson focuses on choosing to create light for each other, as we learn of a famous UU, Louis Latimer, an inventor who, literally, created light. Our second lesson focuses on hope and choosing  that we can trust life to help us. We find wisdom in the world's  religions  as we are inspired  by the Chanukah story.

Grades 4-7 continue their study of world religions as they focus this month on Protestantism. Be on the lookout for notices of their next field trip from their teachers.

December winds up with our Children's Pageant on December  21st.

We look forward to continuing sharing your Children's Faith Development together!
