Women's Perspective Group
Please join our Women's Perspective Group to explore our opinions and feelings on different topics. There is plenty to discuss and learn. It’s an interesting way to connect with each other. The Women's Perspective is on a temporary hiatus as they look for a new facilitator (or co-facilitators). We have so much gratitude for Kate Haldeman and Corlyn Griggs for their leadership of Women’s perspective all these years. It has been an amazing group since they started it, and we need someone to keep the momentum going! Members take turns leading the monthly discussion so facilitating can be light work. This has created many meaningful conversations: building community as we deepen our connections. If you are interested in leading and exploring the woman's perspective, please contact [email protected]. Men's Group The Men’s Group meets the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 8 AM - 9:30 AM. in the UUCY Carriage House Parlor. We start and end on time. We are mostly 40 - 80 in years and would welcome more younger men. We trust and learn much from one another. There are usually 16 - 20 men attending. A typical meeting is called by the song of a bowl and we have a “check-in” to be aware of important events and passages in our lives. One of us is responsible for an opening and closing reading. Another is the meeting leader and has prepared/communicated the subject for discussion. Our talks are interesting and sometimes spill over into the next session. For information on joining our meetings, please contact Russ McKnight, [email protected], 717-887-4075. Knitting and Giving Group For many years we have met together once a week to knit, crochet and build friendships. All are welcome! |
Drum Circle
Join us to drum and make music in community. We drum together outdoors next to the Beech Tree, weather permitting. In case of rain, we meet inside the Carriage House, located behind the main church building. Please bring a chair for outdoors and a drum. All are welcome. This is a family friendly event. NO experience needed. Led by Robert Felton [email protected] UUCY Ramblers The UUCY Ramblers are reconvening to stay connected and active during these cooler months. Members and friends who like to walk are encouraged to join us when they can. The upcoming walks will be held in different parks around York County. Walks will be 2 – 3 miles. Whether you prefer brisk or leisurely walking, all are welcome to come and walk at your own pace. Writers Group Our writing group meets monthly to offer support for our writing practice. No experience required. We have writing prompts monthly. For more information, contact Pamela Moore at [email protected]. Mindfulness Exploration Study Group Interested in exploring or deepening your spiritual practices? Come and join us on the second and fourth Sunday evening of the month as we nourish our capacity to keep an open heart and mind, lean into discomfort, and strengthen our own flourishing in this world. Each gathering is centered on a spiritual teaching we watch on YouTube. Feel free to attend when the spirit calls you. |
