About Our Minister
Rev. Christin Green (she/her) is the Senior Minister of the UU Congregation of York, PA beginning in August 2024. Born in San Antonio, TX and raised primarily in a suburb of Kansas City, MO, she grew up in a liberal Baptist church community where her two adoptive mothers played piano and organ.
Rev. Christin graduated from Missouri State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Feminist Literary Theories (independent major) and French. She then earned a Master of Arts in Women's Studies from The George Washington University in 2012, writing her thesis on a graphic novel series to examine how popular culture expresses and explores gender inequality and inequity. Rev. Christin discovered Unitarian Universalism in 2011 as a life saving faith. It gave her community as well as language to articulate the God of her understanding which is far too big for one religious tradition. She fell in love with the hymns and the theology quickly. In 2016, she quit her job in the non-profit sector to pursue seminary education for Unitarian Universalist ministry. |
Rev. Christin graduated with a Masters in Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in 2019 and was ordained by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville, MD in 2020. She is now pursuing a Doctorate in Ministry at Wesley Theological Seminary in Soul Care and expects to be a "Rev. Dr." by the end of 2026. She enjoys time in nature with her dog, Rainbow, and her fiancée, Dana, reading and writing poetry, and drumming as spiritual practice.
