Share the Plate Partnerships

Sharing Donations with our Community Partners

What is Share the Plate?
UUCY shares half of all our donation plates with a local community organization, what we call Share the Plate (STP). Our Share the Plate partners are identified through input from the Congregation and decided upon by the UUCY Social Justice Committee. We use the STP to honor our commitment to service to our local community through these generous donations to local partners.
Donate to Share the Plate
Share the Plate is a key part of our Social Justice program.

Our Share the Plate Partner for the month of October:
The Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC)

The Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC) is a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that vulnerable immigrants and their families have access to justice, safety, and hope for the future. Founded in 1996 out of the grassroots movement to support the Golden Venture asylees detained in York County Prison, PIRC has grown into a statewide leader in immigration legal services.
Today, PIRC provides free, high-quality legal representation to:
  1. Immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking across Pennsylvania.
  2. Individuals held in immigration detention in Pennsylvania.
  3. Immigrants facing removal proceedings in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia immigration courts.
  4. Unaccompanied immigrant children in long-term foster care in York.
  5. Immigrant residents of York County.
Every year, PIRC stands alongside thousands of individuals and families navigating one of the most complex and high-stakes areas of law—working to keep families together, protect children, and uphold the promise of justice for all.

Mission: The Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC) provides free high quality legal services so that vulnerable immigrants and their families have access to justice and a more secure future. Your support makes this work possible.
Vision: Vulnerable immigrants and their families have a voice, dignity and hope in communities across Pennsylvania.
